Gabriela
Bustelo was brought up between France
and the United States.
She returned to Spain
when she was a teenager, towards the end of Franco’s dictatorship. She has a BA
in English Language and for the last twenty-five years she has translated
literary and cinema works as well as essays. She has translated works by Edgar
Allan Poe, Rudyard Kipling, Oscar Wilde and Mark Twain, among other authors.
She is now devoted exclusively to literature and writing. Her first novel, “Veo
veo” (Anagrama, 1996) is a neorealist story that had good reviews in Spain. Her
second novel, “Planeta Hembra” (RBA, 2001), is a sarcastic sci-fi novel which
was better accepted and understood in the United States than in her own
country. She also collaborates with several magazines.
Criada entre Francia y Estados
Unidos, regresó a España
Colabora
en distintas revistas.
