A police pursuit in Argentina’s Patagonia ends up in a “settling of scores” where nobody is supposed to be left alive. Pero, pese al empeño en borrar las huellas, hay un superviviente: un delincuente que sabe demasiado de los lazos entre el poder político y el crimen organizado. Un joven periodista regional, seguro de que está sobre la pista que desvelará la trama mafiosa, emprende un viaje en solitario y muere desbarrancado con su coche, en el desierto. Ese hecho, tenido por asesinato, pone en marcha una investigación que incluye a Alejandro, amigo y colega del muerto, y Juan Bermúdez, veterano de la guerra de guerrillas en Argentina.
